Alex Martin is a multi-disciplinary artist who is constantly picking up new crafts. A self-taught sculptor with a background in kitbashing and miniature painting, his favourite way to create is to start with a found object, discarded item of decor, or regular piece of household trash, and then find ways to transform it. His primary materials (outside of found objects) are epoxy clay and acrylic paint, but he also works in needlefelted wool, graphite and charcoal illustration, and occasional bead and wire sculpture.
Originally from Louisiana, Alex now lives in Ottawa with his spouse Jared, their tiny feline criminal Mia, and an ever-increasing collection of new projects and inspirational pieces by local artists.
